Synopsis

Flora Veit-Wild's study of Zimbabwean literature focuses on the social factors which contributed to its development from the 1950s to the present. She follows the ideas of Abiola Irele and other African critics regarding the importance of social contexts. Veit-Wild's information is drawn from extensive firsthand interviews which she uses liberally in the text.
