Synopsis
This well written book is a vivid and compelling account of Ndebele history from inception of the State in 1820 to its demise in December 1893, and beyond. The emphasis, however, is on the Makhalima people, originally of Sotho stock, joined the migrant Kingdom at various times and places during the long haul march to Zimbabwe. Inevitably, a rendition of the Makhalima history, ipso facto, lends itself to a rendition of Ndebele history and that gives the book a broader appeal to scholars of history, students and general readers.
