Synopsis

This is an exploration of the intricate interaction between religion and politics in Zimbabwe during the crisis years, 2000 to 2008. Contributors analyzed the extent to which political actors sought to deploy religion to achieve specific goals and examined how religious persons utilized faith in the quest to attain their objectives.

Ezra Chitando is Professor of Religious Studies in the Department of Religious Studies, Classics and Philosophy of the University of Zimbabwe. He also serves as theological consultant for the Ecumenical HIV and AIDS Initiative in Africa (EHAIA).
