Some writers can give you two heartbeats

Nontsikelelo Mutiti & Tinashe Mushakavanhu

Some Writers Can Give You Two Heartbeats is a book of writers on writing ‐ anecdotes, aphorisms, and excerpts culled from interviews and other sources. This edition brings together almost 150 Zimbabwean writers, editors, academics and publishers to provide a rare glimpse of what being a writer is really like.

...a careful threading of quotes from many of Zimbabwe’s eminent literary figures, arranged according to theme. In between [are] recreated interviews, newspaper clippings, handwritten notes and other ephemera that, when put together, [build] a composite, subjective history of the country’s post-liberation canon. - Kwanele Sosibo, Mail & Guardian
