Things I have forgotten before

Tanatsei Gambura

Synopsis

Gambura's debut poetry pamphlet is a coming of age story – part memoir, part experiment. This is a story about self, woman, nation, and parentage. The manuscript was awarded the runner-up prize to the Inaugural Amsterdam Open Book Prize (2020) and an honourable mention by Red Line Art Works.

Review

In this collection we are witness to Tanatsei Gambura's exquisite range. Each poem represents a structure of feeling, and a structure of being. Here is a poet of interiors who takes us inside to explore forms of vulnerability with such tenderness and care. - Tinashe Mushakavanhu
